Right to Protection

Project proposal. Not an active project until officially approved and launched.

The project is designed to provide legal information and facilitate access to professional legal assistance for veterans, Defenders of Ukraine and their family members. Participants may receive assistance in identifying the appropriate legal procedure, preparing applications and official requests, and obtaining referrals to authorised lawyers. Court and administrative representation will be provided only by duly authorised legal professionals.

To improve access to legal information and professional legal assistance and to support the protection and restoration of veterans’ lawful rights and interests.

Main areas of work

  • explanation of legislation and how rights are exercised;
  • help preparing applications, submissions and official requests;
  • matters of statuses, benefits, payments, social and pension provision;
  • challenging unlawful decisions, actions or omissions;
  • referrals to lawyers and the free legal aid system;
  • legal support on housing, labour and social issues.

Timeline

Start: after approval of the procedure for receiving and processing requests.

Completion: an ongoing programme.

Status: project proposal; the implementation model is under development.
