Chair of the NGO “Luhansk Regional Association of Veterans and Defenders of Ukraine”
Oleksii Hryhorovych Bakhtin
Born in Luhansk region. He holds a higher education degree in Chemical Technologies from Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University.
He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2023–2024. In 2023 he completed military training in the United Kingdom. He has also trained in mine safety, unmanned aerial vehicle operation and first aid, and holds a paramedic diploma.
He is a co-founder of the Charitable Organization “Charitable Foundation ‘Kryla Donbasu’” and the founder of the NGO “Luhansk Region ‘Donbas-Boxing’”. He takes a direct part in delivering humanitarian aid to military personnel and civilians, and in supporting internally displaced persons, children and young athletes.
He chairs the NGO “Luhansk Regional Association of Veterans and Defenders of Ukraine”. His main areas of work are support for Ukraine’s defenders and their families, development of veteran initiatives, social adaptation, rehabilitation, humanitarian assistance and engaging partners in socially important projects.
He obtained the qualification of instructor-mentor of service dogs with a view to further participation in canine search operations aimed at locating the bodies and remains of fallen defenders and properly returning them to their families.
